Rainy in Boise too!

For weeks, it's been HOT and DRY. 100 degree days, over and over, and in the span of 48 hours, we went through the most impressive thunderstorm I've seen in Boise in a long time, which brought in the rain, and it has been raining bringing the temps down to the 50's-60's!! We need it! Not too much though! Enough for our dam, but not too much for the foothills, as that would just be a huge fire waiting to happen.

Anyway, all is well for the Manter's... lost in the most red state of the union. As the bumper sticker says, that's all over the valley, I'm a blue girl in a red state! :)

  1. Having lived in California for over 20 years, it's still difficult to get used to the fact that it never rains between May and September..........

  3. A friend and classmate of your dad, Gail Johnson, is a summer fire-fighter Karen. She lives for a big fire season! I was speaking to her last week and she was lamenting the lack of fires in the west. It was a bizzare point of view to hear, but she was saying that for the crews who are the real experts and count on the fire season for the bulk of their income, they are in, essence, unemployed by Mother-Nature! The economy hits hard in ways most of us can never imagine!

  4. Jerry, please post some photos of you and Michelle. We would love to see them! Are you still running? We were at the beach this week and told the story of the night that you, Greg and I slept in the spare room and told ghost stories. Greg then went to sleep and you and I laid there considering the eerie stories he had told. That led to the story of the night we all slept in the tent in the backyard and Aunt Jean scolded us through her bedroom window (very late at night)to quiet down. Fun times!!!!! Come to North Carolina....I promise to let you sleep in the guest room and not in the tent! AND....it's a queen bed...not a single!!!! XOXOXO
